Rubanga forest is situated in Lake Mburo national park which is Uganda’s smallest national park covering an area of 260 kilometers squared, out of the 310 species of birds found in lake Mburo national park 40 species of this birds can be found in Rubanga forest.
Rubanga forest is home to some unique tree species botany lovers can explore the forest canopy and see plant species like acacia, saoium, markhamia platycalyx, and erythriana among the rest. Rubanga forest is a birders paradise boasting with various bird species some of these birds are endemic to this area, some of the examples of birds found in Rubanga forest are; double toothed barbet, marina teogn, grey backed cameroptera, harrier hawk, green pigeon to mention a few.

The common birds found here include; the harrier hawk, shoebill stork, the narina trogn, green pigeon, the double toothed barbet and the grey backed cameroptera.
