About Mihingo Lodge

This lodge was built using local materials mixed with large rocky boulders on the site and decked with the local Ugandan artifacts. It has been designed by the German owners and also consists of over 10 luxury tented rooms over a wooden platform covered by a thatched roof. Each of the room has an en suite bathroom with the hot and cold running water, a veranda and a flushing loo.the lodge has also got a thatched dining area as well as a swimming pool with beautiful views over the lake plus a tennis court.

The accommodation:

The lodge ha also got 10 tented rooms that are built on the wooden platform with the stilts and covered by a roof that is thatched. All the rooms are well equipped with the en suite bath rooms with the stunning views that include the cold running water, hot water, showers and the flush toilets.

The Child care

Even though there are no exact child facilities present, the children of all ages are welcome to come and stay at Mihingo Lodge. The food and meal times can also be attuned to suit well with the younger guests and then babysitting can be arranged for those that need it.

About the facilities

Its main dining area is so large and it’s a thatched structure that is built with rocks, this wood is from dead weathered olive trees that are found on the land as well as the native grasses. Just below the dining area, there is the swimming pool that expanses out from the rocks and then disappears into the large land scape elsewhere. You will as well find a tennis court and a hide for the visitors to enjoy.

The Main activities

There are many game drives as well as guided walks in the park with fantastic views. The boat trips can also be enjoyed on Lake Mburo and need to be booked in advance. These trips usually take 2 hours and the visitors will see the hippos, crocodiles, birds as well as leopards from the boat. This lodge gives horseback safaris in the valleys towards Lake Kacheera outside Lake Mburo National Park.

Directions & location

This lodge is located on 200 acres that are privately owned. It’s end to end with Lake Mburo National park in the northern Uganda.

 

How to get there.

It takes 8 hours and 30 minutes by international flight to Entebbe-Kampala airport, this drive is also 4 hours and 30 minutes from Kampala to the lodge.
