Nestled in Uganda’s western kirhura district along the Kampala- Mbarara highway, lake mburo national park spans 370 square kilometres, making it the country’s smallest savannah national park. It’s the landscape is a diverse tapestry of rolling hills, rocky outcrops, acacia woodlands, open savannas, forest, five interconnected lakes, and sprawling swamps.
Underlain by ancient Precambrian metamorphic rocks dating back over 500 million years, the park sits in the rain shadow between Lake Victoria and the Rwenzori mountains, creating a unique ecosystem that supports a surprising wealth of flora and fauna. It is also steeped in local cultural, with sites like Rubanga (once used for traditional sacrifices) and Ruroko (associated with the semi-mythical Bachwezi people) adding historical depth to its natural allure.

Lake Mburo National Park is located in Nyabushozi County Kiruhura District covering an area of approximately 370 kilometers. This park is famously known for the large population of Zebras and other fauna species.
The ecological system of this park is so lush harboring plenty of vegetation species as well as a haven to variety wildlife species namely Zebras, Warthogs, Oribis, Topi, Reedbuck, leopards, Water buck, Elands among others.

- Unique wildlife Assemblage: It is the only Ugandan park home to impalas and the solo Rift valley park with Burchell’s zebras. Eland antelope – Africa’s largest antelope species – and Topi are found here and only in Queen Elizabeth national park elsewhere in Uganda.
